Trevor had met the president that day. He was honored. Later that day, he saw a couple guys getting beat up and mugged and he had tried to mix in. He was listed as critical condition in the hospital and was undergoing surgery. He had passed away later that morning.
I think its surprising that he passed so soon after all the good deeds he had done.
How do you think his mother will react to this?

Week 5 Connector Ocean
On pages 242-244 Reuben does something that he's not quite sure about. When he actually does decide to do it, he later regrets it.
Have you ever done something that you weren't sure you should do, and then when you did it, you felt ashamed or regretful? Explain why you felt that way.
Is there someone you know, or have heard about in magazines, like a celebrity, that keeps going back to someone or something that is not necessarily helping them, but for some reason they continue seeing that person, or doing that thing? To clarify, an example of someone who isn't doing anything good for the person could be a bad friend, or an ex. An example of something that is not necessarily good for someone could be drugs, alcohol, self-harm, or prostitution. If so, what are they doing, and why do you think it may not be good for them?
Reuben seems to lay low, and not always speak up for himself. What are some times in this book that you think Reuben could/should have stood up for himself, and what could he have said?

Week 4 Literary Luminary
In Chapter 21, page 200, Sidney G is being interviewed by Chris Chandler in Prison. Sidney G is claiming that he is the person who came up with the Pay it Forward idea. Chris plays along with this, and pretends that he believes Sidney G.
When i first read this interview, it made me a bit mad. The reason it made me mad is because Trevor should have been getting credit for his idea. Not Sidney G. I was, however, glad that Chris was only playing along, and didn't actually believe that Sidney G was the creator of such an innocent, and good-hearted idea.
When you read this interview, what were your initial reactions, and thoughts? Why did you feel that way?
